Turkish startup Nanolinter produces NCC from lignocellulosic and cotton plant-derived linter and paper pulp. The startup’s patent-pending technology creates NCC that is stiffer than steel and stronger than aluminum with lower density. This makes the material suitable for the formulation of composite materials. The bio-based nature of NCC makes it more renewable than other carbon-based materials like carbon nanotubes and graphene. In addition to composites, NCC-based formulations increase the performance of products like paper, paint, building and aerospace materials, food and drug additives.
