eco:fibr is actively tackling the disposable culture by producing cellulose from pineapple plants for the cardboard and paper industry. To do this, the team uses a residue from the pineapple crop as a raw material to obtain high-quality paper pulp.
Eco:fibr aims to support secure, fairly-paid jobs in Costa Rica, while guaranteeing the ecology and economy of pineapple cultivation. In developing the process for producing pulp from pineapple leaves, the company deliberately avoids the use of chemicals that are harmful to the environment.
eco:fibr cellulose can be used as an alternative to traditional wood pulp, and can therefore be used for every conceivable paper and cardboard product.
